I know my last post was also a sky/cloud/sun picture, but this past Sunday, we were pleasantly surprised with a beautiful sunset after a gloomy rainy day that was too cool to pass up. After the rain, I noticed some sunshine and was sure there would be a rainbow so I ran out to try to get it, but I got this crazy golden sky instead. It’s no “woah, double rainbow” but it’s pretty freakin pretty. What does it mean?!
For those who don’t know what the title refers to, it’s an old Judy Blume book. http://bit.ly/Itsmemargret
Doesn’t really have anything to do with this post, but it’s what I thought of from the picture Tim made me take. We were driving on the way to New Hope, PA, and on the way the sunshining through the clouds caught his eye. It was beautiful, but pretty dangerous considering he was the one driving. So instead of him staring at the sky the whole time while driving, (similar to the scene in The Men Who Stare At Goats) I asked him to stop so I could snap the pretty scene from him.
Even though there were pretty colors, I kind of like the black and white better. Gives more of a “dramatic” effect.
Just trying to capture some sunshine for my sunshine 🙂 (Cornball Alert!! w00t w00t!)
I took some pictures at my friend’s engagement party this weekend and while editing them, decided to mess around with vignetting. Seems to be “what’s hot in the streets” these days ha! That and the “vintage effect”, but that will be for another day! This is what I did to this picture:
What I did was use photo shop and changed the color balances to give it a “cooler effect”. Then I created the vignette using this tutorial http://bit.ly/dhQd5q. I used the rectangle selection tool to select the area I wanted to show, and right clicked and inverted the selection. Then selected to feather, and chose 200 for a radius. Then in the image adjustment, just used the different adjustments such as “exposure”, “brightness”, etc. to remove the color and image to what I wanted. This was the resulting picture!
The final image
Congrats and thanks Shannon and Carmine!
I started a photo project involving two things I love, craft beer and photography! This first beer is Southern Tier Hop Sun. Such a great summer beer! You can check out our review on it here: BeerThis!
I would prefer not to be a model in my own pictures for this, but for the first one I figured to try it out myself. If you have any suggestions or would like to model let me know! I will also try to shout out what beers we’re reviewing before I make the photo so if you have any ideas shout it out too!
I was just piddling around on Friday and took some pictures of my lazy cat Donut. He’s such a diva.
Then that night the moon was so big and clear so I braved the bear sighting warning and took a little late stroll to take some shots of it. I was pretty cool looking!
Does anyone have any fun photo project ideas? I’m jonsin to focus on one!
Here are some shots from the most recent maternity shoot I’ve done. Joslyn and her husband were such a pleasure to work with! She wanted more “non-traditional” maternity pictures that really accentuated her pregnancy. There are more shots here: http://bit.ly/9l4HM9
I had gotten a new lens a few months ago and wanted to try it out. I was just springing, so I figured a pretty place near by would be the Frelinghuysen Arboretum in Morristown, NJ. Here are some shots from that day: http://bit.ly/bOFQib
